A non-partisan examination of the US National Debt, I.O.U.S.A. premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and was called “the most frightening film at Sundance” by LATimes critic Kenneth Turan. The film had a unique live, national theatrical release in August of 2008, followed immediately by a “town hall meeting” featuring Warren Buffett, US Comptroller General David Walker, and others featured in the film. Roger Ebert named I.O.U.S.A. “one of the Top 5 Best Documentaries of 2008”.
